Atmosphere Kombucha Review

The taste of Kombucha in general is not easily acceptable to our taste buds. But this brand has successfully crafted a recipe to make it more acceptable and to some extent tasty too.

Since the recipe for this drink is created by a nutritionist, we can trust them with our gut health.

Currently, they have 5 flavors of Kombucha.

  • Apple Pie
  • Blue Pea Flower
  • Blueberry and Lavender
  • Elderflower
  • Exotic Lime

Their Kombucha and Kefir are packed with the goodness of probiotics and prebiotics.

What is Kombucha

It is a fizzy sweet-sour drink that is made with tea. It is believed to prevent a variety of health problems, like hair loss, cancer, and AIDS. However, there is little scientific research to back up these claims.

It was first brewed in china around 2,000 years ago and then it spread to Japan and Russia. It became popular in Europe in the early 20th century.

It is gradually gaining popularity in the US, owing to its reputation as a health and energy drink.

Kombucha Ingredients

It is basically made with Yeast, sugar, and Black tea. This mixture is then set aside for a week or more for fermentation. In that period bacteria and acids form in the drink. As well as little quantity of alcohol. Similar to how milk is turned into yogurt.

These bacteria and acids form a layer on top of the fermented liquid called a SCOBY (symbiotic colony of bacteria and yeast).

This SCOBY can be used to ferment more Kombucha

Kombucha bacteria consists of lactic acid bacteria, which works as a probiotic, and is excellent for our gut. It also contains a healthy dose of Vitamin B.

Benefits Of Kombucha

  • Aids in digestion releases toxins from your body and boosts energy.
  • Help you to lose weight.
  • Helps to cure Diarrhoea and Irritable Bowel Syndrome.
  • Boosts your immunity.

Atmosphere Kombucha Founder: Rebecca Sood and Ariella

The founders Rebekah Sood and Ariella grew up in the town of Missouri. They spent their childhood surrounded by forests, clean air, pure water, and locally grown produce.

After completing their education, both of them pursued corporate jobs.

Rebekah worked with fab India and helped them set up an eatery named Fab Cafe.

Ariella worked with Organic India and then set up her own Nutritional Therapy Practice. Where she would encounter a lot of people with gut issues.

She wanted to give them a product containing live probiotics, but unfortunately, there was none available in the market.

So she decided to make her own product to give to her clients. Her products had amazing results on their gut and energy levels.

This is where the story of Atmosphere Kombucha starts. It was 2015 and they were discussing their future. They both were obsessed with nutrition, cooking, and clean eating and initially decided to start a cafe. Under the palm trees in a little garden cafe in Goa, they dreamt of opening their cafe in Delhi.

They made elaborate plans, reached out to mentors, and created budgets. It all came to a screeching halt a few months later when they realized that they didn’t have even a fraction of the money they needed to live in Delhi let alone start a cafe here.

But they kept going. They got day jobs, found an abandoned apartment for 24k a month, and moved to Delhi. Over the next 2 years, they spent all of their free time dreaming, doubting, and then moving forward.

They realized they would never have money to start their own cafe and so they focused on something they could make- KOMBUCHA.

They started making it in their apartment. They spent weekends, evenings, and early mornings hunting through Old Delhi looking for bottles, sitting around at Nehru Place while their labels got printed, brewing kombucha, bottling kombucha, and delivering it.

They started small, with zero employees no equipment, and no marketing budget. They just kept going. Each month they would make a little more money than the month before and they would invest it back into their business.

When they were young, they noticed that Indian women did not get enough opportunities for education or school. They wanted to do something about it and for that reason all their employees are women.
